Memories Preserved

Wow, I have been so busy, busy, busy! I keep saying I will fill you all in on the new details… but, the truth is I am just trying to juggle all my commitments and finalizing the last details! I hope my computer guy will come in this week and have me up and running! Hopefully there will be a bigger and better site!
More from the connections show:
Another artist whose work I love is Lucille Norella, she is so passionate about what she does, and it shows!
Her work starts off in her garden; where she waters, feeds, prunes, and cares for her flowers. Then the arrangements are mounted on archival paper. Her arranging is a reminder of a time, long past. A time where meandering and memories were preserved with great care and left down to the younger generation. They would make perfect pieces for the restored Victorian Home.
When you see them, they look fantastic, but there is a secret…and you’ll just have to come in and see for yourself…give it guess!
Continually on the look out for immerging talent, she is a true inspiration for our “up and coming” artists in the community. Hope you enjoy today’s pictures!
I miss you all! Keep on creating! sincerely Caroline

First week at the Philip Hone Gallery

Sorry, I haven’t been to neverland, well, the blog anyway! The carpenter finally showed up! Yeah!!!!! Jump for Joy!! All the molding is finally complete. Now no more excuses, I will be painting trim all week long! Yuk….
I am still uncertain what “date” would be the best for the opening. I need more finances to complete the rest! I still need to get the signs made up, inventory for the storefront; and the cameras for the teaching room, anyone know someone who can help me with grants? Writing them?
Anyway…
I’ve enjoyed a full week working at the Philip Hone Gallery. This was my first week alone at the helm! I definitely have “a way to go”; physically I am shot! My legs have swollen up again.
This isn’t what I need right now. I need to recommit to eating right, but I have such issues with that whole healthy eating thing! Yes the juicing works, but how boring!!!! If anyone has suggestions of new; gluten & dairy free foods that actually taste good? tell me! PLEASE !!
Back to the Gallery News:
Wow, as a mother who has been in kiddy land for the last 20years, even thou I was tired, at the same time I was elated and inspired just being in the company of other artists. I have met so many inspiring people I can’t wait to share them all with you, hopefully in stories to come!
The Connections Show:
The Connections Magazine’s Artscene show was a Success! Well as far as I am concerned! I am glad that I stayed after my shift and hung around. They had four fantastic artists showing their work, a fairly diverse group; two photographers, an artistic gardener, and a collage artist.
Good food, wine, and new friends, the perfect ingredients for a fantastic night!
Maybe next time you can come with me! ! I have posted some pictures I loved from the night of the show,ENJOY!!!
#081 Me & Jimmy; my angel who helped me get thru!!
#099 The rainbow that showed up “just for me”
#100 My friend Bob “the rainbow” who helped close the show!
The night was great fun, I am tired and going to rest so thank you for helping, You know who you are! I’ll post more photos of the artists and their work tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping in and for all the support!! Love Caroline

Wonderful Weekend

Exhilarated begining:
Here I am exhausted drained and exhilarated at the same time, my first week at the gallery. Wow, I don’t know where to start, but I can say “finally working in and around art is where I belong.” Working two days straight with no sleep to mention, I was amazed that I was still moving. Well, when the night was over I clasped. Then… I slept a full day away, not sure if it was a bug, or just maybe not strong enough yet? (Health wise)
Either way:
The show was wonderful; the work amazing, the concept was from our local artist & teacher, evolving the high school children. I will be posting all about it this coming week!

Studio NEWS: No new work this week! I am hoping to hire another person to take charge of the project! All work has stopped and I am pissed!

This is the difficult part we were doing this work our selves, most of it anyway…but we all work jobs!! Yes being a mother of four is a full time job!
Three months have passed; my scheduled opening is Memorial Weekend, what else can I do? My husband and son have done fantastic so far, but I have a ton of finishing to-do!! With my MS, painting ceilings is out of the question, electric is not my gig!! Thus trying to find someone to help without raking my last bit of savings is the dilemma! Help wanted ad is bringing nothing but lunatics from far-off! So hopefully… this contractor will except the offer and finish this place!

So I can actually draw & paint there! In time for an opening!
There is a major art fair the same Memorial weekend date, in front of my building, which would work out fantastic for me as my opening date! Taking on too much???
All my excitement is for the opening, but I don’t know if I can actually pull it off!
I am posting some sketches… Just playing around with a drawing of my daughter…..
I am going to start cleaning up and getting this place back together! So I can start all over again Monday morning!!! Wish me luck! Thank you for all of your support!
